OHIO
Here I am in another hotel room, this time in Cleveland, OH. I arrived today and I took the opportunity to visit the rock and holl hall of fame museum. Quite interesting collection. Personal documents, clothes and instruments that belonged to many pop stars. John Lennon’s Rickenbacker guitar, Hendrix’s colourful clothes, Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jim” glove, Led Zeppelin’s press release (“We just signed a hot new british band”), Jim Morrison’s obituary, many original manuscripts and so on. Also the first guitar Bono Vox and James Taylor got from their parents. Man, that must cost big money. Also funny is the first contract Soundgarden signed with SubPop Records in 1987 - handwritten in notebook paper.
Yesterday I headed to Atlantic City to see Buddy Guy for the first time. It was an interesting concert. Buddy is in his 70’s but still plays and sings very well. He was very talkative, telling jokes and interacting with the crowd all the time. At the climax of the show he came down the stage and exited the door on the left side, right in front of me, playing his guitar. There was him, the blues legend, playing his guitar right in front of me. Then he walked all the hall, played and sang in the middle of the crowd. He even went upstairs and hang with the folks out there. What a character !
The open-act was an 11-year-old white boy that played just like him. In the end he came back to jam with Buddy.
My project band disbanded as the others decided to join a cover band. That was the explanation I was given. I am already in contact with other musicians, trying to set up something for this summer.
Bahamas was interesting. The city of Nassau, the capital, looks like my hometown Diadema, but by the sea. I mean, it is not very clean. There is a Bahia flavour in the air. The traffic is a mess. They use the british system, that means, you drive on the left. However, half of the cars have the steering wheel on the left side, half on the right. The beaches are very nice. We did snorkeling, there are some cool pictures from underwater.
That’s it. I hope that the summer that is starting now brings good news.

HI THERE
Someone brought to my attention that this blog has been used in a master degree final work (whatever you call that). The guy collected information from several blogs written by brazilians living abroad. He even wrote me more than 2 years ago asking some questions but his e-mail got lost in my inbox. For that reason he did not write much about me, but he did analyse several other blogs. Well, if you are curious to read his essay, in portuguese, here you go:

The band is slowly moving forward. Since April we have played together 3 times and we are working on 3 original songs. Since I wrote the lyrics I sang in the last 2 practices but the idea is that the bass player takes over the vocals. He used to sing but he has not sang in 20 years, so I don’t know if that is gonna work. If not we will look for someone.
Last weekend was memorial day, where they celebrate the soldiers who died in all wars. We made a trip around Pennsylvania, visiting the chocolate factory in Hershey, the city of Pittsburgh and the battlefield in Gettysburg, where the American Civil War came to an end in 1865. I just got to know it was the deadliest conflict for the americans. Over 1 million people died during the war. Take a look at wikipedia to know more.
We are going to camp this weekend to celebrate my birthday. Presents are welcome, by the way.
Next Friday we are flying for 6 days in the Bahamas. Bye !
